FAQ

1. Why doesn't Noir recognize my device?
   Your phone or tablet might not support USB Host (OTG), or the connected device may not be a Video Capture Card. Additionally, if your device can't supply enough power, consider using a USB hub for additional power.

2. Why is the preview so laggy?
   Lag often results from using the wrong USB version. Ensure you're using a USB 3.0 capture card with a USB 3.0 cable and port. For USB 2.0 capture cards, use the MJPEG video format and keep it within 1080p30fps, though some cards support up to 1080p50fps.

3. Why did my capture card, which was working fine, suddenly fail to connect?
   This issue is typically due to system problems. A simple restart of your phone or tablet can often resolve this.

4. Why does my gaming console or Video playback device show a black screen when connected?
   This is common with PS5 and PS4 due to HDCP being enabled. Disable HDCP in the PS console settings: Settings -> System -> HDMI. Note that PS3 does not support disabling HDCP. Other devices might also enable HDCP when playing video content, leading to a black screen. Some HDMI splitters can bypass HDCP, but this solution is not recommended here.

5. Why are resolutions other than 16:9 and 4:3 not supported?
   Current capture cards on the market typically only support these ratios. Use Noir's Stretch feature to adjust to your desired ratio, ensuring your capture card's EDID supports it and setting your laptop or computer's output resolution accordingly.
