AIMP
AIMP is a classic playlist-based audio player designed for Android OS, offering a robust set of features for music enthusiasts. However, users should be aware that the app may not function correctly on devices running M.I.U.I firmware.
Key features of AIMP include support for a wide array of audio formats such as aac, ape, dff, dsf, flac, it, m4a, m4b, mo3, mod, mp2, mp3, mp4, mpc, mpga, mtm, ogg, opus, s3m, tta, umx, wav, webm, wv, and xm. It also supports various playlist formats including m3u, m3u8, xspf, pls, and cue. The app integrates seamlessly with Android Auto and custom Car PCs, and offers versatile audio output methods like OpenSL, AudioTrack, and AAudio. Users can enjoy enhanced functionality with CUE Sheets support, OTG-storages, and custom file providers, along with user bookmarks and a customizable playback queue. AIMP also caters to visual and lyrical needs with support for album arts and lyrics, multiple playlists, and smart-playlists based on folders. For those interested in streaming, AIMP supports internet radio, including Http Live Streaming, and automatically detects tags encoding. Audio quality can be fine-tuned with a built-in 20-band graphic equalizer, balance and playback speed control, and volume normalization using replay gain or peak-based normalization. Additional convenience features include a sleep timer, custom themes, and built-in light, dark, and black themes with night and day modes.
Optional features further enhance the user experience, such as automatic music search and indexing, the ability to cross-fade tracks, repeat options for playlists or tracks, and down mixing multi-channel audio files to stereo or mono. Users can control playback from the notification area, via gestures in the album art area, or through their headset, and can switch tracks using volume buttons.
Additional capabilities include playing files from File Manager applications, Windows shared folders (supporting only v2 and v3 of the samba protocol), and WebDAV-based cloud storage. Users can selectively add files or folders to playlists, delete files physically, sort and group files by template or manually, search files in filtering mode, share audio files, register playing tracks as ringtones, and edit meta information for APE, MP3, FLAC, OGG, and M4A file formats. Notably, AIMP is completely ad-free, providing a seamless listening experience.
