Chess Scanner
Introducing the Score Sheet Scanner for Digitizing Chess Games
Effortlessly Scan and Digitize Your Chess Games
Our innovative score sheet scanner transforms your physical chess score sheets into digital games with ease. Simply scan your score sheet, and our technology extracts the text to generate the game. An intuitive overview displays the score sheet alongside the generated moves, allowing you to spot and correct any misrecognized moves using our smart move suggestions.
After digitizing your game, you have several options at your fingertips: categorize the games into tournaments, analyze them on Lichess or Chess.com, or export them as a PGN file for further use.
How to Scan Your Score Sheets
You can capture score sheets using our built-in scanner or select images from your gallery. Our app supports score sheets for both White and Black players, which is especially useful for tournament directors. When generating the game, we consider both versions, and you can specify up to two score sheets per player.
Generate Your Game
Immediately after scanning, you can generate your game. Alternatively, you can manually overlay the move grid for more control over the process.
Supported Notations
Our app recognizes multiple chess notations to cater to a global audience:
- English: N/B/R/Q/K
- German: S/L/T/D/K
- Dutch: P/L/T/D/K
- Spanish / Italian: C/A/T/D/R
- French: C/F/T/D/R
- Portuguese: C/B/T/D/R
- Czech / Slovak: J/S/V/D/K
While we support other notations, accuracy may vary as they are analyzed based on our existing model.
Game Generation Process
During game generation, your score sheets are sent to our servers. The time taken can vary from 1 to 10 seconds, depending on the score sheet's legibility, game length, and your internet connection.
Reviewing the Generated Game
Our overview feature shows the score sheet columns with the corresponding generated moves. The background color of each move reflects its likelihood of accuracy. Tapping on a move directly shows the chess position and suggests alternative moves.
Correcting Misrecognized Moves
If a move is misrecognized, our move suggestions help you correct it swiftly. These suggestions are ordered by probability and can be filtered by the piece to be moved. After making corrections, you can regenerate the game from the updated move.
Handling Crossed-Out or Missed Moves
No worries if you've crossed out moves or missed some on your score sheet. Our game overview lets you skip or insert moves, and you can regenerate the game with these changes.
Adding Game Data
Enhance your game records by adding player and tournament data, as well as additional information through a description field.
Overview and Filtering of Games
Our app provides a comprehensive overview of all entered games. You can filter them by tournament, round, and favorites, or use the search field to find games by players or descriptions.
Exporting Games
With our premium features, you can export filtered or individual games as PGN files. Customize what data to include in the PGN file, such as tournament details, rounds, and dates.
Importing Games
You can also import additional games into our app via PGN files.
Analyzing Games
