Halma
Halma, also known as Ugolki or куточки уголки, is a strategic board game played offline. This version boasts significantly improved artificial intelligence (AI), with updates in 2020, 2021, and most recently in July 2024.
Originally conceived in 1883 or 1884 by Harvard Medical School's George Howard Monks, an American thoracic surgeon, Halma draws inspiration from the English game Hoppity.
The game uses a checkered board. Two-player games employ black and white pieces, while four-player games utilize diversely colored pieces. Players begin with their pieces positioned in opposite corners. The objective is to move all your pieces from your starting corner to the opposing corner. Players take turns moving a single piece to an adjacent empty square or performing a series of jumps over other pieces.
