Players must color or leave blank cells in a grid according to numbers on the grid's edges to uncover a hidden image. These numbers represent the lengths of continuous lines of filled squares in each row or column. For instance, a clue like "4 8 3" indicates sets of four, eight, and three filled squares, separated by at least one blank cell.
To master a puzzle, you must decide which cells to fill (boxes) and which to leave empty (spaces). Both are crucial, as spaces later guide where a clue's block of boxes can extend. Solvers often mark certain empty cells with a dot or cross to keep track of their progress.
