The Hanoi Towers Lite
For Mathematical Puzzles Enthusiasts
The Towers of Hanoi, also known as the Tower of Brahma or Lucas' Tower, is a captivating puzzle that offers a mathematical challenge. It involves three rods and a series of disks of varying sizes, arranged in a conical shape with the smallest disk at the top. The goal is to transfer all the disks from the leftmost rod to the rightmost rod using the minimum number of moves, while adhering to these three rules:
- Only one disk may be moved at a time.
- Only the topmost disk on a rod can be moved to another rod, which may be empty or not.
- A larger disk cannot be placed on top of a smaller one.
The game progresses through levels, with each level completed when all disks are successfully moved to the right rod. Upon completing a level, a new disk is added to the initial stack on the left rod, increasing the complexity with each subsequent level.
Upon finishing a level, an end-level dialogue box appears, displaying:
- The number of the completed level.
- The time taken to complete it.
- Whether a time record was achieved.
- A 3-star ranking based on:
- Using the minimal number of moves.
- Completing the level without any errors or mistakes.
- Setting a time record.
To win the game, players must successfully complete all seven levels. At the end of the game, a results chart is shown, detailing each completed level's times, records, the number of correct and incorrect moves, the 3-star rankings achieved, and any of the following six achievements unlocked:
Achievements:
- The First 3 Stars: Awarded when the player earns their first 3-star ranking.
- 3 Impeccable Levels: Achieved when the player earns 3-star rankings for three consecutive levels.
- 4 Consecutive Time Records: Earned when the player sets time records for four levels in a row.
- ¡Unstoppable!: Awarded when the player sets time records for five levels.
- Game Completed: Achieved upon completing all seven levels.
- Best Game Time: Awarded when the player completes the game in the shortest possible time.
We hope you enjoy this engaging mathematical game.
