Alexa Plus, an enhanced version of the Alexa voice assistant powered by generative AI, is now available in early access. This upgraded assistant offers a range of new features, with a focus on more natural, engaging conversations. Amazon describes Alexa Plus as "more conversational, intelligent, and personalized, helping you accomplish tasks effortlessly."

Alexa Plus is currently in Early Access, exclusive to select Echo Show models—Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. Owners of these devices can be among the first to try it. With its conversational approach, Alexa Plus allows you to ask questions spontaneously and assists with tasks like managing to-do lists, retrieving calendar details, making restaurant reservations, and more. According to Amazon’s Alexa Plus Early Access page, "new features are being added regularly," with further enhancements expected post-Early Access.

Not all devices support Alexa Plus. Older models, including Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen, will continue using the standard Alexa. Amazon notes on the Alexa Plus Early Access page, "We plan to expand Alexa Plus to additional devices, including Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com, in the near future."
