育碧宣布其新作《刺客信条：暗影》再次延期，新的发售日期定为2025年3月20日。此举是为了整合玩家反馈，力求打造更出色的游戏体验。这是该游戏第二次延期，此前预定的2024年发售日期已先后调整为2025年2月14日，现如今又推迟了一个月。
育碧在其官方X（推特）账号和脸书页面上发布声明称：“我们每周都收到来自社区的宝贵反馈。虽然我们已经取得了显著进展，但我们认为还需要几周时间来整合这些反馈，以确保在游戏发售之日提供更出色、更引人入胜的体验。”
育碧首席执行官Yves Guillemot在一份新闻稿中补充道：“我们全力支持我们的团队努力打造该系列最具雄心的作品，并决定额外增加一个月的开发时间，以便更好地整合过去三个月收集的玩家反馈，从而充分发挥游戏的潜力，并在年底取得强劲的业绩。”
新闻稿还透露，育碧任命了“资深顾问来审查和探索各种变革性的战略和资本选择，以最大限度地为利益相关者创造价值”，努力重组公司，“以提供一流的玩家体验，提高运营效率，并最大限度地创造价值”。去年，育碧的2024年游戏表现令人失望——《星球大战：法外狂徒》首发表现不佳，《XDefiant》这款多人在线射击游戏在5月份发布后仅7个月就停止了运营。
尽管官方声明已给出解释，但一些粉丝猜测，此次延期可能是由于2月份有多款其他热门游戏发售。值得注意的是，备受期待的游戏包括《王国之泪II》（2月4日）、《文明VII》（2月11日）、《宣誓》（2月18日）和《怪物猎人：荒野》（2月28日）。这可能是育碧为了吸引更多关注而采取的策略性举动。
