Get ready, fans of the Avatar universe! Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have just announced an exciting new addition to the beloved franchise: Avatar: Seven Havens. This announcement comes as part of the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the original series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

The new series, Avatar: Seven Havens, will be a 26-episode, 2D animated adventure that follows the journey of a young Earthbender who discovers she is the next Avatar after Korra. Set in a world shattered by a devastating cataclysm, the narrative promises a thrilling twist: the new Avatar is seen not as a savior, but as a potential destroyer of humanity. Hunted by both human and spirit enemies, she and her long-lost twin embark on a quest to uncover their mysterious origins and save the Seven Havens, the last strongholds of civilization.

In their statement, DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their excitement about expanding the Avatarverse, saying, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters."

Avatar: Seven Havens will be divided into two seasons, each consisting of 13 episodes, forming Book 1 and Book 2. The series is being co-created by DiMartino and Konietzko, along with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building for this new chapter in the Avatar saga.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a full-length animated movie centered around an adult Aang. Scheduled for release in theaters on January 30, 2026, the movie will take fans on a new adventure with the beloved character.
