Tim Burton's Batman saga continues with a new novel, Batman: Revolution, crafted by John Jackson Miller and released by Penguin Random House. This book unveils the Burton-Verse's take on The Riddler and is now available for preorder on Amazon.

As reported by ComicBook.com, Revolution serves as a sequel to 2024's Batman: Resurrection, also authored by Miller. Set in the timeline between 1989's Batman and 1992's Batman Returns, Revolution draws from Burton's unproduced third Batman film, once envisioned with Robin Williams as The Riddler.

Here’s the official synopsis for Batman: Revolution:

Summer in Gotham City brings a festive mood as The Joker’s toxic legacy finally fades, paving the way for a grand Fourth of July celebration orchestrated by the mayor and retail tycoon Max Shreck. Yet, not all is calm. Batman remains ever-vigilant as rival gangs and masked villains intensify their threats. On the streets, protests swell against the city’s opulent displays.

Caught in this clash of hope and unrest is Norman Pinkus, a modest copy boy at the Gotham Globe. Secretly the mastermind behind the paper’s wildly popular Riddle Me This puzzles, Norman is Gotham’s hidden genius, anonymously solving crimes through police tip lines before Batman even detects them.

Despite his brilliance, Norman remains overlooked, believing in Gotham’s promise until disillusionment takes hold. Ignored by the city and its leaders, who fixate on Batman, Norman transforms into The Riddler. With dangerous allies, he exploits the city’s simmering tensions, challenging the Caped Crusader in a high-stakes game of riddles to determine Gotham’s true protector. Their confrontation unearths dark secrets from Gotham’s past, threatening its future.

Batman: Revolution hits shelves on October 28, 2025. Preorder your copy on Amazon.
