How to Beat the Viper in The First Berserker: Khazan
In the *Dungeon Fighter Online* universe, the dragonkin have long been a formidable adversary for heroes, and this challenge continues in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. Players must approach the battle with the Viper with utmost caution. For those struggling to defeat this high-ranking dragonkin, here's a detailed guide on how to beat the Viper in *The First Berserker: Khazan*.
Phase 1
The Viper, a creation of Hismar designed to lead defeated dragons and sow chaos, is a formidable opponent even without tapping into Hismar's power. Before facing the Viper, ensure your skills are set up for your chosen weapon, and consider summoning the Spirit of Advocacy just outside the boss gates for additional support. When confronting the Viper, be vigilant for the following attacks:
- A three-hit combo starting with two stabs followed by a spear swing.
- A two-hit spear-swinging combo from left to right.
- A large sweep followed by a leap away, then throwing its spear up to two times; be cautious of the returning weapon.
- A four-hit combo with a spinning spear, followed by swipes in both directions.
Timing your blocks and executing Perfect Guards will rapidly deplete the Viper's stamina. Keep up the pressure with continuous attacks and Brutal Attacks when opportunities arise. The Spirit of Advocacy can serve as a useful decoy. At around half health, the Viper will roar and summon an energy tornado; move away to avoid being pulled in.
After the energy blast, be prepared for the Viper's leaping slam. Watch for its grab attack, indicated by the flashing spear tip, and dodge to the right to avoid it. The Viper will also employ a new ranged attack, spinning its spear vertically, followed by a series of jumping attacks. All previous attacks will now be more potent and include additional hits, so maintain a defensive stance. Executing a Perfect Guard on the final hit of its five-hit combo will stagger the boss, providing a window for significant damage.
Once you've depleted its health, the true battle begins.
Phase 2
In Phase 2, the Viper taps into Hismar's power, becoming even more dangerous with a fully restored health bar. It now uses its fortified left arm for downward smashes and swipes, and a giant sword for slashes. When it roars, brace for two wide-ranging arm attacks followed by a Burst Attack; use Counterattack to stun it and create an opening for attack.
At the halfway mark of its health, the Viper will summon a storm that darkens the arena. During lightning flashes, it will leap towards you to attack multiple times, ending with a charge and an uppercut. Parry or dodge these attacks, and use its aggressive behavior to your advantage. Be aware of the new leaping slam attack and adjust your position accordingly.
Always monitor your stamina to avoid exhaustion and vulnerability during the Viper's sustained combos. Defeating the boss rewards you with over 10,000 Lacrima, Hismar's Scale, several Fallen Lord items, and the Hunter's Ring.
