Beta Players Adore and Fear New Monster Arkveld in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Monster Hunter Wilds beta has made a thrilling return, introducing players to new challenges, including a battle against the formidable new monster, Arkveld. This fearsome creature is not only the flagship monster for Monster Hunter Wilds but also the star of the game's cover, promising a central role in players' adventures. In the latest beta test, hunters can take on the Chained Arkveld with a 20-minute time limit and up to five "faints."
Arkveld is proving to be a daunting adversary. This massive winged beast wields electric chains from its arms, capable of unleashing thunderous attacks that can send even seasoned hunters back to base in a cart. Its agility and long-reaching attacks, facilitated by its whips, add to the challenge, making it a true test of skill and strategy. One particularly striking move sees Arkveld grab a hunter, roar menacingly, and then slam them down, leaving players in awe and fear.
Arkveld is a peak monster
The excitement around Arkveld isn't just about its combat prowess. The monster's unpredictable nature has led to amusing moments, like the one captured on the r/MHWilds subreddit, where Arkveld rudely interrupted a player's meal, proving that the wilds are no place for a peaceful lunch.
arkveld is having none of that
Despite its difficulty, the Monster Hunter community seems invigorated by the challenge. The thrill of taking down such a powerful and visually stunning monster reaffirms the essence of the game. The "Chained" moniker and Arkveld's flagship status have sparked speculation about the potential existence of an even more terrifying "Unchained" version in the future.
The Monster Hunter Wilds Open Beta Test 2 is scheduled for February 6 through 9, and February 13 through 16. During these periods, players can hunt both Arkveld and the returning monster Gypceros, and explore new features such as a Training Area and Private Lobbies.
