Black Ops 6 Infection and Nuketown Modes Coming This Week
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 receives two classic game modes and a beloved map this week, hot on the heels of its launch and a recent update addressing player feedback.
Nuketown and Infected Arrive This Week
Treyarch, the developer behind Black Ops 6, confirmed via Twitter (X) that the popular "Infected" mode and the iconic Nuketown map are coming this week. Infected, a party mode where players battle zombie-like opponents, drops tomorrow. Nuketown, the classic map inspired by 1950s nuclear test sites, arrives on November 1st. This follows Activision's earlier promise of regular post-launch content additions for Black Ops 6, which launched with 11 standard multiplayer modes, including variations with disabled Scorestreaks and a Hardcore mode.
Black Ops 6 Update Addresses Post-Launch Bugs
A recent update tackled several multiplayer and Zombies mode issues. Key improvements include increased XP rates in several popular modes (Team Deathmatch, Control, Search & Destroy, and Gunfight) and various bug fixes. Activision stated they're closely monitoring XP rates across all modes. Resolved issues include:
- Global: Loadout highlighting, Bailey's Operator animation, and the "Mute Licensed Music" setting functionality.
- Maps (Babylon, Lowtown, Red Card): Exploits allowing players to leave the map boundaries have been patched. Red Card also received stability improvements. General in-game interaction stability has also been addressed.
- Multiplayer: Matchmaking improvements to find replacement players faster, Private Match fixes to prevent forfeits with zero players on a team, and resolution of a continuous missile sound effect bug from the Dreadnought Scorestreak.

While some issues, like player deaths during loadout selection in Search & Destroy, remain, developers Treyarch and Raven Software are working on further patches. Despite these minor post-launch hiccups, Black Ops 6 is widely considered one of the best Call of Duty titles in recent years, particularly praising its enjoyable campaign.
