Blizzard was selling skin in Overwatch 2, but announced a free giveaway 24 hours later
Blizzard's handling of the Overwatch 2 Cyber DJ skin has ignited another controversy. Initially sold for $19.99, the skin was unexpectedly offered for free a day later to Twitch viewers watching a one-hour broadcast on February 12th.
This sparked considerable backlash from players who had already purchased the skin, leading to widespread calls for refunds. While the Cyber DJ skin has been removed from the in-game store, Blizzard has yet to address the refund requests. This isn't the first time Blizzard has faced criticism for selling cosmetic items only to later offer them for free.
