"Bloodlines 2 Delayed Again, Now Set for October 2025"
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has encountered yet another delay, with its release now scheduled for October 2025. This latest postponement, although relatively minor compared to previous delays, was announced in a recent game update video by publisher Paradox Interactive and developer The Chinese Room. The new release date is a few months later than the previously planned launch in the first half of 2025, but it comes with reassuring news that the game itself is complete.
“The status of the game right now is that the game is done,” stated Marco Behrmann, the Executive Producer of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. “We are currently focusing on bug fixing, stability, and performance so that we can deliver the best experience to you guys once it releases.”
While the delay is another setback for eager fans, the accompanying video offers some encouraging updates. The Chinese Room has enriched the game with additional content, enhanced narrative depth, and improved character development since the last major update. They've also teased an "evolved role" for the character Fabien in the storyline. However, fans should note that updates on the game's progress will become less frequent, as indicated by a recent post on the official Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 X/Twitter page.
Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 has faced numerous challenges over the years. Initially announced in 2019 by developer Hardsuit Labs with an expected launch in Q1 2020, the game experienced a series of delays. The first delay pushed it to late 2020, followed by further postponements to 2021, accompanied by layoffs at Hardsuit. In a significant shift, Hardsuit was replaced by The Chinese Room in 2023, targeting a 2024 release. Now, after one more delay, fans can finally look forward to playing the game in October 2025.
Despite the ongoing delays, The Chinese Room remains optimistic about the game's future. Should Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 achieve a successful launch, Paradox has hinted that another developer might take on the challenge of creating Bloodlines 3.
