BUCK Opens Game Studio with The Electric State: Kid Cosmo
- The award-winning studio responsible for Secret Level and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse
- Portfolio features the vibrant roguelite puzzler Let’s! Revolution!
- BUCK Games launches in tandem with Netflix's The Electric State: Kid Cosmo
If, like me, you were completely stunned by the visuals in Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse—questioning your life choices as studios like BUCK continue to deliver masterpiece after masterpiece (think Love, Death + Robots and Secret Level)—you’ll be pleased to learn that the acclaimed animation and design studio is now stepping into game development.
Yes, BUCK has officially unveiled its new gaming division, BUCK Games, alongside the release of Netflix Games' The Electric State: Kid Cosmo—an inventive game-within-a-game tied to the upcoming film.
This isn’t BUCK’s first venture into gaming, though. The studio previously launched the colorful roguelite puzzle game Let’s! Revolution!. With over 20 years of experience in animation and design, BUCK has worked with major clients including Apple, Riot Games, and Microsoft.

Given that impressive track record, there's every reason to expect that future releases from BUCK Games will deliver the same level of quality—if not higher—on mobile platforms.
“Creating a game set within a larger universe presented a new type of challenge," says Michael Highland, Creative Director of BUCK Games. "It required both flexibility and creative problem-solving from our team. We started with a bold, unconventional idea, and our collaborators pushed us to refine it into the best possible experience.”
In the meantime, you can dive into The Electric State: Kid Cosmo on Netflix, or explore some of the other standout titles in Netflix’s gaming catalog. To keep up with the latest news, join the community on the official Twitter page, visit the BUCK website for more details, or watch the embedded clip above to see the game's unique style in action.
