Mastering Buzz Lightyear in Brawl Stars: A Comprehensive Guide
Supercell's Brawl Stars continues to excite with its ever-expanding roster, and the latest addition, the limited-time brawler Buzz Lightyear, is no exception. Available only until February 4th, Buzz offers unique versatility with his three distinct combat modes. This guide will help you unlock and dominate with Buzz before he's gone.
How to Play Buzz Lightyear

Buzz Lightyear is a free unlock from the in-game Shop. He arrives fully powered up at Power Level 11, with his Gadget (Turbo Boosters – a forward dash for engaging or escaping) already unlocked. He lacks Star Powers and Gears. His Hypercharge, Bravado, temporarily boosts his stats and is available across all three modes.
Buzz's three modes offer diverse gameplay:
| Mode | Image | Stats | Attack | Super |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Laser Mode | ![]() |
Health: 6000, Movement Speed: Normal, Range: Long, Reload Speed: Fast | 2160 | 5 x 1000 |
| Saber Mode | ![]() |
Health: 8400, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Short, Reload Speed: Normal | 2400 | 1920 |
| Wing Mode | ![]() |
Health: 7200, Movement Speed: Very Fast, Range: Normal, Reload Speed: Normal | 2 x 2000 | - |
Laser Mode excels at long-range combat with a burn effect. Saber Mode is ideal for close-quarters, utilizing a Bibi-like attack and gaining Super charge from damage taken. Wing Mode provides a balanced approach, effective at mid-range.
Optimal Game Modes for Buzz Lightyear

Buzz's adaptability makes him effective across various game modes. Saber Mode shines in close-quarters maps (Showdown, Gem Grab, Brawl Ball), especially against Throwers due to his Super's targeted landing. Laser Mode dominates open maps (Knockout, Bounty), using the burn effect to control opponents' healing. Even at low health, his aggressive potential is valuable in Trophy Events or Arcade Mode. Note that Buzz is unavailable in Ranked Mode.
