Capcom to Crack Down on Monster Hunter Wilds Cheaters Before Update 1
Tomorrow marks the release of the first Title Update for Monster Hunter Wilds, introducing quests that promote competition through fast clear times. In response, Capcom is taking a firm stance against cheating and fraudulent activities within the game.
Capcom has issued a clear warning via their Monster Hunter account on X/Twitter: "To ensure a fun and fair experience for our players, we will take action against accounts participating in fraudulent ranking activity, such as the use of cheating or external tools. Accounts deemed to be in breach of this may be suspended, or have restrictions placed on them, such as being unable to receive rewards from these quests."
The company emphasized that not only will cheaters face consequences, but players who engage in multiplayer hunts with cheaters may also see their quest completion times invalidated and their right to rewards revoked. Capcom advises players to be cautious and avoid playing with those suspected of engaging in prohibited activities, urging them to report any fraudulent behavior they encounter.
The new quests will offer cosmetic pendants as rewards, some of which are available to all participants, while others are awarded based on Completion Time or the hunter's ranking. This highlights Capcom's commitment to maintaining a level playing field and ensuring that rewards are earned fairly.
These Time-Based Competition Quests will be accessible through the new Arena Quest Counter located in the Grand Hub in Suja, which players can unlock by completing a special tutorial mission. Be sure to head straight to the Grand Hub once Title Update 1 goes live tomorrow in Monster Hunter Wilds. For more details, you can review the Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 1 patch notes.
