A notable change in Elden Ring: Nightreign is the removal of the in-game messaging feature. Director Junya Ishizaki clarified this decision, citing the approximately forty-minute session length as insufficient time for players to effectively send or read messages. The statement reads: "We removed the messaging function due to the limited playtime of roughly forty minutes per session, making message sending and reading impractical."
