Warner Bros.' previously shelved film, Coyote vs. Acme, might finally see the light of day, as reported by Deadline. The Los Angeles-based independent film production and distribution company, Ketchup Entertainment, is currently deep in negotiations to acquire the completed movie. Although the deal is not finalized, a theatrical release could be on the horizon for 2026 if the negotiations are successful.

Announced in 2022, Coyote vs. Acme is inspired by a 1990 Ian Frazier New Yorker article of the same name. The film, co-written by James Gunn and featuring Will Forte and John Cena, was initially slated for a mid-2023 release on Max. However, despite having completed filming, it was unfortunately shelved. Since then, a dedicated campaign to save the movie has been actively pursued.

PlayKetchup Entertainment has a history of rescuing films from similar fates, most notably with Warner Bros.' *The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie*. They secured this film a theatrical release in the US, marking it as the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to hit the big screen. IGN's review praised it as a "laugh-out-loud riot."

Ketchup Entertainment's portfolio also includes Hellboy: The Crooked Man and the Robert Rodriguez thriller Hypnotic, starring Ben Affleck. Additionally, they co-produced Michael Mann's 2023 biopic, Ferrari.
