Days Gone Remastered: Enhanced PS5 Experience with New Game Modes

Bend Studio's post-apocalyptic adventure, Days Gone, is getting a remastered release for the PlayStation 5, boasting a range of new features and enhancements. Announced during Sony's February 2025 State of Play, the upgrade includes support for VRR and PS5 Pro, significantly improving visuals and performance.

The real highlight, however, lies in the addition of exciting new game modes. These include a thrilling permadeath mode, a challenging speedrun mode, and a vastly improved photo mode. Accessibility options have also been expanded, catering to a wider range of players. A new Horde Assault arcade mode throws players into even larger, more intense encounters with Freakers than before.

Days Gone Remastered launches on April 25, 2025. PS4 owners can upgrade for a mere $10. Watch the debut trailer below:

This remastered edition represents Sony's continued effort to bring enhanced PS4 titles to the PS5. It joins other upgraded releases such as The Last of Us Part I and Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered.

PC players aren't left out. While Days Gone is already available on PC, Sony offers the $10 Broken Roads DLC, providing access to the new game modes, enhanced photo mode, DualSense support (if applicable), and the improved accessibility features.

A PlayStation.Blog post reveals further details. The PS5 version is optimized for the console, offering selectable Performance and Quality modes. PS5 Pro owners will experience further visual enhancements, along with haptic feedback and adaptive trigger utilization via the DualSense controller.

Days Gone Remastered will retail at $49.99. Pre-orders begin tomorrow, offering eight PSN avatars and five early in-game unlocks as pre-order bonuses. For a comprehensive overview of the State of Play announcements, check out our roundup here.
