First Deadlock update of 2025 is surprisingly small

Valve's back from their New Year break, and developers are rolling out updates across their game portfolio. Following Deadlock's shift away from bi-weekly updates, we anticipated a substantial patch, but Valve opted for a smaller, less intensive update to start the year.

This initial 2025 patch focuses solely on balance adjustments for Yamato. His Shadow Transformation received a minor nerf, impacting damage scaling and initial attack speed bonus. Further adjustments weakened Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot, alongside a slight rework of Alchemical Fire.

A more comprehensive patch is anticipated, though the timing remains uncertain. Predicting the release date is currently difficult.

Deadlock's player count has notably decreased recently, possibly due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals. However, maintaining a consistent 7,000–19,000 concurrent players during its deep beta phase is still a respectable achievement. Remember, Valve hasn't yet revealed any release dates or monetization plans.
