"Drive with Your Eyes: Open Drive Hits Early Access on Android"
Open Drive, a groundbreaking mobile racing game, has just launched in early access on Android. Developed by the charity organization SpecialEffect, in collaboration with Sun & Moon Studios, this game is a testament to inclusive gaming. Open Drive is designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of physical ability, making it more than just a game.
What’s the Game About?
Open Drive is all about flexibility and accessibility. It supports various input methods, including touch, keyboard and mouse, switch access, and controllers. This inclusive design ensures that players, including those who rely on alternative methods like eye gaze, can fully enjoy the game. The mobile-specific eye control feature is particularly revolutionary, allowing players to steer by simply looking left or right with a compatible eye gaze camera. This is a significant advancement for accessibility, especially for players with physical challenges who may find games with limited input options difficult to play.
The game spans four diverse open worlds: Stunt, Speed, Snow, and Meadow, each offering unique experiences. Whether you're collecting orbs, chasing high scores, or pulling off daring jumps with vehicles like the Roadster, Trickster, or Speedster, gameplay is tailored to your style. You can even adjust the speed to your preference. For a glimpse into the world of Open Drive, check out the early access announcement trailers below.
Open Drive Is Now Out in Early Access
Open Drive automatically detects and adjusts to the control method you're using, ensuring a seamless experience. Switch Access on Android is fully supported, along with different setups for touch controls, mouse, keyboard, and Android-compatible gamepads/controllers. While the eye control functionality is not fully implemented yet in the early access version, it's set to be available when the full version launches later this summer.
You can now explore Open Drive on the Google Play Store during its early access phase. Keep an eye out for the full release to experience all the game has to offer, including the innovative eye control feature, completely free of charge.
