Dungeonborne Officially Set to Close Down

May 14,25

The developers behind the PvPvE action game Dungeonborne, which drew inspiration from the acclaimed Dark and Darker, have officially announced the cessation of support and the impending closure of the game's servers. This decision comes after the game's brief stint in the market, lasting less than a year, during which it struggled to maintain a stable player base due to insufficient player engagement and the absence of substantial updates.

While Dungeonborne's listing remains visible on Steam, it has been removed from the platform's search results and is only accessible through a direct link. Although the developers have not explicitly stated the reasons behind the shutdown, it's evident that the game's critically low player numbers were a significant factor. Since the latter part of 2024, Dungeonborne has rarely seen more than 200 players online simultaneously, with recent activity plummeting to a mere 10 to 15 players.

The servers for Dungeonborne are scheduled to be permanently shut down on May 28, marking the definitive end of the project. This closure signifies the conclusion of a game that once held promise and captured the attention of fans within its genre but ultimately could not sustain its momentum or reach its full potential.
