Dynasty Warriors: Origins - How To Switch Characters
Quick Links
In Dynasty Warriors: Origins, you primarily play as the Wanderer, striving for peace. Story choices impact your journey, and companions frequently join battles. While they fight alongside you, occasional control is possible. Companions are significantly more powerful than the Wanderer, making switching advantageous. Here's how:
Character Switching in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Character switching is limited to battles where a companion is present. Before a battle, the companion selection is the final option in the pre-battle menu. You can choose to fight alone, but companion switching isn't available then. Once combat begins, your companion's health bar appears below yours in the bottom right.
Beneath their health bar is a blue energy meter, similar to your Musou gauge. This fills by:
- Parrying attacks
- Perfect dodges
- Assaulting officers
- Utilizing Weapon Arts
Most combat actions gradually increase this meter. A full meter activates the "Change Character" button next to the bar. Press and hold this button (View on Xbox, C on PC, Touchpad on PlayStation) for a second to switch.
Playing as Companions in Dynasty Warriors: Origins
Switching characters mid-battle is ideal, given companions' strength. Control lasts approximately one minute; the blue meter depletes, showing remaining time. Your new character starts with full Bravery and a range of effective combat arts.
Switching initiates a powerful attack. Aim carefully! Your companion also possesses a full Musou gauge and health bar, allowing immediate use of their special attack.
