Dec 11,24

EA's long-running mobile game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out, is heading for retirement. After a twelve-year run, the city-builder will be sunsetting in early 2025.

The Shutdown Timeline

In-app purchases are already unavailable. The game will be removed from app stores on October 31st, 2024. However, existing players can continue enjoying Springfield until January 24th, 2025, when the servers will be permanently shut down. EA expressed gratitude to players for their decade-long support in a farewell message.

One Last Chance to Build Your Springfield?

For those unfamiliar with the game, The Simpsons: Tapped Out lets players rebuild Springfield after Homer's accidental nuclear meltdown. Players manage iconic characters, expand the town to Springfield Heights, and even run Apu's Kwik-E-Mart. The freemium game featured regular updates reflecting show storylines and real-world events, using in-game donuts as its primary currency.

If you're interested in experiencing Springfield before the game's closure, download it from the Google Play Store. And be sure to check out our article on the upcoming mobile game, eBaseball: MLB Pro Spirit!
