Following its June 2020 announcement and subsequent teasers, skate. is finally open for playtesting on PlayStation and Xbox consoles. While a PC beta launch date remains unannounced, fans can register as Insiders to receive updates.

According to the game's official X (formerly Twitter) account, console playtesting has been ongoing since at least December 2023, possibly even September, as indicated by a highlight reel. Despite this, developer Full Circle actively encourages further registrations, as development continues.

skate. is slated for Early Access release sometime in 2025. This marks the franchise's return after nearly a decade since Skate 3, and will be available on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. Set in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, the game will be a free-to-play, live-service title aiming for an "authentic evolution" of the nearly 20-year-old series, as detailed by Full Circle in a previous YouTube interview.
