Instead of passively awaiting Nightreign, chickensandwich420 devised a unique challenge: defeating Messmer, a notoriously difficult boss from the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, every day. The twist? He uses a different weapon each time, aiming for flawless, no-hit victories on NG+7.

His journey began on December 16, 2024. Initially considering a broader range of FromSoftware bosses, he opted for this focused approach due to his university studies.

Messmer's reputation precedes him. Players report needing 30 to over 150 attempts to defeat him, even with optimal gear. chickensandwich420's self-imposed challenge is undeniably Herculean.

A June deadline looms. If Nightreign doesn't launch by then, the challenge expands to other games. This sets a limit of roughly 160 Messmer battles. At the time of writing, he's reached day 23.
