After escaping Fort Joy and removing the Source collar in Divinity: Original Sin 2, your journey continues aboard the Elven ship, Lady Vengeance. The task at hand: getting the ship underway. This isn't a simple matter of steering; you'll need to uncover a unique method to initiate its voyage.

Explore the vessel, interact with its inhabitants (potential companions included), and gather crucial information regarding the ship's control mechanism. The key lies in accessing Magister Dallis' cabin and deciphering the Ancient Songbook. This guide will help you navigate this puzzle.

Investigate Dead Bodies On The Ship

The solution to setting sail is spread throughout the ship. Begin by searching the bodies of the fallen magisters and ghouls on deck. A deceased magister holds a Sodden Diary, containing the password to a specific cabin door.

Alternatively, a skill check when interacting with the northern stateroom door can also reveal the password.

Beyond the password, you'll also need a Strange Gem to interact with the Portside Stateroom door.

Note: A magic mirror, located south of the stateroom doors, allows unlimited respeccing of your character and companions. Utilize this if you need to reallocate ability points for a successful skill check.

Access the Portside Stateroom

Armed with the password, enter the ship's quarters. Here, interact with the NPCs and recruit companions. Westward, you'll find Bishop Alexander, now restrained by a Source collar; to the east lie the stateroom doors.

Before tackling the doors, examine Bishop Alexander's regalia to obtain the Strange Gem. Return to the stateroom doors. The southern door recognizes the gem. Use the password (from the diary) – "Fortitude" – to unlock it. Inside Magister Dallis' cabin lies the next crucial item.

Dallis' cabin also contains a hidden hatch, guarding two dangerous ghouls and a Teleportation Prism.

Locate the Ancient Empire Songbook

Inside Magister Dallis' cabin, you'll meet Tarquin. Exhaust all dialogue options with Dallis before exploring. The Ancient Empire Songbook rests on a central pedestal. Reading it will trigger a comment from your character.

It's advisable to speak with all NPCs before setting sail, as opportunities for interaction will be lost once the ship departs.

Setting Sail: Initiating the Voyage

With the song learned, return to the deck and speak to Malady. Inform her of your discovery; she'll request you sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west. Select the option to sing. Lady Vengeance will respond, and you can prepare for the next stage of your Godwoken journey.

Be prepared for a challenging battle immediately after setting sail, as a powerful ambush awaits. Ensure your party is adequately prepared.
