thatgamecompany is launching an ambitious storytelling experiment in Sky. The new season, Season of The Two Embers – Part 1, arrives in Sky: Children of the Light on July 21st. This marks the beginning of an engaging four-part saga.

Season of The Two Embers introduces cinematic storytelling to the game, drawing inspiration from the in-game film Sky: The Two Embers. The season will run concurrently with the first part of the movie.

The story centers on an orphan who clings to hope as darkness consumes their world. The narrative unfolds through flowing animation without any spoken dialogue.

Each chapter is presented as a short film, followed immediately by Seasonal Quests that let you experience the final moments of a fading kingdom firsthand.

An emotional anchor throughout the journey is a manatee companion. It responds to your actions and remains by your side through every triumph and challenge.

Alongside the narrative, you can explore one of Sky's most intricately designed new areas. This vibrant market village is filled with Spirits and hidden secrets. New cosmetic items include charming manatee hats and earrings that complement the setting.

The seasonal schedule has been announced

Season of The Two Embers – Part 1 unfolds over four weeks. Chapter 1 begins on July 21st, followed by Chapter 2 on July 28th.

Chapter 3 releases on August 4th, with the final chapter arriving on August 11th. After each chapter premieres, it will replay every two hours in the in-game cinema.
