Fallout 76 Season 20 plunges players into a thrilling new experience: becoming a Ghoul in Appalachia's irradiated wasteland. This update, launched March 18th, introduces a wealth of ghoul-themed features, mechanics, and cosmetics, completely transforming your C.A.M.P. experience.

Unleash Your Inner Ghoul

Fallout 76's latest update lets you embrace your inner Ghoul through the "Ghoulification" process, unlocked via the "Leap of Faith" questline. This quest takes you to a new area of the Savage Divide, where you'll meet new characters and undergo a transformative journey. Becoming a Ghoul grants access to unique abilities – Glow and Feral – and 30 exclusive perks ("Gherks").

The Feral ability replaces hunger and thirst, offering stat boosts based on your Feral meter. However, depleting it to 0% unleashes a dramatic shift in gameplay: +150% Melee Damage but at the cost of significant reductions in Endurance, Charisma, HP, AP, and accuracy.

The Glow ability allows you to consume radiation, granting immunity to diseases and mutations, and, of course, making you glow. It also boosts your maximum health, heals damage, and synergizes with specific Gherks.

You'll have 28 perks to choose from, plus two new legendary perks exclusive to Ghouls. Note that perks related to hunger, thirst, and chem resistance are unavailable to Ghouls.

A Ghoul's Life in Appalachia

Your Ghoul abilities and perks make exploring the irradiated wasteland significantly easier. However, be warned: factions like the Brotherhood of Steel will be hostile towards you, potentially locking you out of certain quests.

Fortunately, a new NPC, Jaye, provides disguises to bypass these restrictions. If you decide the Ghoul life isn't for you, you can revert to human form via the Character Screen (this is a one-way trip; re-Ghoulification requires purchasing Ghoul Retransformation for 1000 Atoms).

Level 50 Character Boost and Patch Notes

Season 20 also includes a Level 50 Character Boost (1500 Atoms), perfect for new players or veterans wanting a head start. This boost provides significant advantages, allowing immediate access to Daily Ops, Public Events, and parts of the storyline.

The patch also incorporates numerous bug fixes, balance tweaks, accessibility improvements, combat balancing adjustments, weapon damage changes, and more. Bethesda also reminds players of the upcoming "The Big Bloom" update on April 29th.
