Efficiently Farming Sharp Fangs in Monster Hunter Wilds

Sharp Fangs are a valuable crafting material in Monster Hunter Wilds, useful for early-game gear like Chatacabra and Talioth armor. This guide details how to locate and farm them effectively.

Sharp Fangs are found early in the game within the Windward Plains. Access this area through optional quests like "Beware the Chatacabra" or "The Desert is Demanding," providing a convenient 50-minute time limit. Consider consuming a meal for buffs before embarking.

Focus on Area 8 of the Windward Plains, its largest area, teeming with smaller monsters. While multiple creatures can drop Sharp Fangs, Gaijos are the most reliable source.

Gaijos: A Guaranteed Source

Gaijos, crocodile-like leviathans, are usually found solitary near or in riverbeds. Their locations are indicated by purple diamonds on the interactive map near water sources. They are relatively weak, making them easy targets even with starting weapons. Each defeated Gaijo guarantees a single Sharp Fang upon carving.

The Windward Plains typically spawns four to five Gaijos. Repeatedly completing optional quests allows for efficient farming of these creatures and their guaranteed Sharp Fang drops.

Talioth: An Alternative Source (Not Guaranteed)

Talioths, bipedal creatures found in packs in Area 8 (and sometimes Area 13), offer a chance for Sharp Fang drops, though not guaranteed. They are slightly tougher than Gaijos but still manageable early on. Killing Talioths also progresses the "The Desert is Demanding" quest.
