To kick off 2025 on a high note, Final Fantasy 14 has reintroduced its Free Login Campaign, offering a chance for players with inactive accounts to dive back into the world of Eorzea for four days at no cost. This campaign, running until February 6, 2025, is accessible on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox consoles.
The timing of the Free Login Campaign coincides with the recent release of Patch 7.15, which brought new side quests to the Dawntrail expansion, including the much-anticipated return of the Hildibrand series and a new Custom Delivery client. In his New Year's Day message, Final Fantasy 14's producer and director, Naoki Yoshida, teased the community with news of upcoming patches 7.2 and 7.3 in 2025, along with smaller content updates. He also hinted cryptically at the future direction of the Dawntrail storyline, sparking speculation among fans about what lies ahead for their favorite characters.
Currently in between major content updates, Final Fantasy 14 offers this Free Login Campaign as an opportunity for players to reconnect with the game. The campaign began on January 9, 2025, at 3:00 AM Eastern and will end on February 6, 2025, at 9:59 AM Eastern, providing up to 96 hours of free play time. The timer starts immediately upon logging in through the game's launcher on PC or console. Eligibility requires that players have previously purchased and registered Final Fantasy 14 with their Square Enix account, and their account must have been inactive for at least 30 days prior to the campaign start. Players with suspended or canceled accounts due to violations of the game's terms of service are not eligible.
Final Fantasy 14 Launches Free Login Campaign (January to February 2025)
Square Enix urges players to verify their account details and eligibility through the Mog Station. During the Free Login Campaign, players can also participate in the annual Heavensturn event, running until January 16, 2025, which offers a minion as a reward. Additionally, Patch 7.16 is slated for release on January 21, 2025, marking the conclusion of the Dawntrail Role Quest side series.
While Patch 7.2 is still on the horizon, the Free Login Campaign provides the perfect window for returning players to catch up on the Dawntrail storyline. The future of Dawntrail in 2025 remains shrouded in mystery, and only time will reveal what Square Enix has planned.
