Finn Jones Acknowledges Critiques, Determined to 'Prove People Wrong' with Iron Fist
Charlie Cox’s portrayal of Daredevil has seamlessly transitioned from the Netflix universe into the heart of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sparking renewed interest in other potential returns from *The Defenders* lineup. Following this successful crossover, Finn Jones—who played Danny Rand/Iron Fist—has publicly expressed his readiness to reprise the role, stating, “I’m here and I’m ready.”
Jones last appeared as Iron Fist seven years ago in Season 2 of the character's standalone series and in *The Defenders*, where he joined forces with Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) to form the unlikely superhero team. While his version of Iron Fist received a more polarizing reception compared to the other Defenders, the recent revival of Daredevil in the MCU has reignited discussions about potentially continuing *The Defenders* story within the larger MCU framework.

During a recent appearance at LaConve, an anime convention held in Monterrey, NL, Mexico, Jones addressed past criticisms head-on. When asked whether he would return to the role, he acknowledged both fan skepticism and his own determination to prove himself:
“There is a willingness for the fans to see that happen,” Jones said. “There’s also a lot of willingness for the fans to see that *not* happen as well. I’m very aware of the critiques of the character and my role in it. My response to that is like, give me a f***ing chance, man. I’m here and I’m ready. I want to prove people wrong. So I would love to see that happen.”
With *Daredevil: Born Again* serving as a direct continuation of the Netflix-era Daredevil storyline, the former Netflix Marvel shows—including *Jessica Jones*, *Luke Cage*, and *Iron Fist*—have now been officially integrated into MCU canon on Disney+. The inclusion of Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, previously exclusive to Netflix, further reinforces this expanded continuity and opens the door for more characters to return.
