Acquiring the Flare Knife

The Flare Knife is surprisingly accessible early in the game. Once you achieve Level 003 Code Clearance, visit Zakka in The Warren. This vendor sells a variety of items, including the Flare Knife, for 3,000 Entitlement Points. After purchase, equip it via the Loadout menu in the Personal Responsibility Portal, selecting an available Combat Item slot.

Utilizing the Flare Knife in Combat

The Flare Knife is specifically designed for severing Abductor limbs. This is beneficial for players who prefer Polearms or Heavy Melee weapons, bypassing the need for Light Melee weapons to achieve this crucial task. However, remember that the Flare Knife is a single-use item; repurchase is necessary for subsequent Operations.

To employ the Flare Knife, target the severable Abductor part and use your Thorn to grapple onto it. With the Flare Knife equipped, a severing option will appear.
