Freedom Wars Remastered: Enhanced Gameplay and New Features Revealed

A new trailer for Freedom Wars Remastered showcases the game's revamped gameplay and control systems, offering a compelling blend of action RPG elements in a dystopian setting. Players battle colossal mechanical creatures known as Abductors, gather resources, upgrade their equipment, and complete challenging missions to reduce their prison sentence.

The remastered version boasts significant enhancements. Visually, the game receives a substantial upgrade, supporting 4K resolution at 60 FPS on PS5 and PC, 1080p at 60 FPS on PS4, and 1080p at 30 FPS on Switch. Beyond the visual improvements, gameplay is faster and more fluid, featuring increased movement speed and improved attack cancellation mechanics.

The crafting and upgrade systems have undergone a complete overhaul. A more intuitive interface and the ability to attach and detach modules freely enhance customization options. A new module synthesis feature allows players to further enhance their equipment using resources obtained by rescuing citizens. For seasoned players, a challenging "Deadly Sinner" difficulty mode has been added. Furthermore, all previously released customization DLC from the original PS Vita version is included from launch.

The game's narrative centers around a "Sinner" – the player character – convicted simply for being born into a world depleted of natural resources. Missions, undertaken to serve their Panopticon (city-state), range from rescuing civilians to eliminating Abductors and securing control systems. These missions can be tackled solo or cooperatively online. Freedom Wars Remastered launches January 10th on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.
