Freedom Wars Remastered: How to Make Strong Weapons
Quick Links
Freedom Wars Remastered plunges you into a dystopian future where you, a Sinner, battle monstrous Abductors to safeguard humanity. To bolster your combat prowess, upgrading weapons and accessories is key. This involves enhancing base stats and adding modules for various improvements. You can start upgrading early, bypassing reliance on mission rewards. This guide details weapon and accessory upgrades in Freedom Wars Remastered.
How To Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered
Weapon upgrades unlock after reaching Level 002 Code Clearance in the main story. This grants CODE 2 Sinners access to the Facility Management Function via the Personal Responsibility Portal. The Weapon Development Facility is where you manage and upgrade weapons, using resources and Entitlement Points. Enlisting a Citizen can reduce upgrade costs, with different Citizens offering varying reduction rates based on their Facility Manager Aptitude. While it might seem complex initially, the system is surprisingly intuitive.
Before upgrading, a screen previews the stat changes. The facility also allows adding Elements, experimenting with Modules and Module Slots. Upgrading to a higher Grade requires purchasing the necessary permit from the Claim Entitlement tab in the Window of Liberty.
Should You Upgrade Weapons In Freedom Wars Remastered?
Early game missions often yield low-Grade weapons. While Zakka in The Warren sells weapons, they're mostly Grade Level 1, making upgrading crucial. A CODE 3 Exam requires claiming higher Grade Development Facility Permits. These permits let you upgrade a chosen weapon, allowing you to focus on a single, powerful weapon. You can donate lower-grade weapons found during missions to reduce your sentence and earn additional Entitlement Points.
Upgrading your first weapon unlocks the "In Search of the Strongest Weapon" trophy/achievement, with more tied to the system, making it attractive for trophy hunters. The damage difference between weapon Grades is significant, incentivizing gear improvement.
Finally, the Ability Development Facility, also within Facility Management, unlocks later in the game.
