Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The action-adventure title, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta, running from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions, offers fans early access to the game's class-based progression system, featuring fully manual controls. Players can choose to play as a knight or assassin. The game features iconic characters like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon. A brand-new storyline centered around a previously unseen heir to House Tyrell in the North will also unfold.

Initially announced in November 2024 and further showcased at The Game Awards, Kingsroad aims to deliver "raw, aggressive, and destructive" combat. Netmarble, known for titles like Marvel Future Fight and Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, is leveraging the rich lore and character narratives from George R.R. Martin's books and the HBO series to create a compelling mobile gaming experience.

The recently released trailer highlights the game's key features, including the class-based progression and manual controls. The game's setting during season four of the show has been confirmed, drawing inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men. The closed beta will be accessible through the game's official website. A full launch is expected later in 2025.

While fans eagerly await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad provides a compelling interim experience for fans of the franchise. This, alongside other projects like A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms and House of the Dragon season 3, offers plenty for fans to enjoy.
