Hades 2 is set to launch on both the Nintendo Switch and the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, marking a significant timed console exclusive for these platforms. Developer Supergiant has confirmed that the much-awaited sequel will be released simultaneously on PC, via Steam and the Epic Games Store, alongside both versions of the Nintendo Switch later this year.

The announcement came after last week's Nintendo Direct, where it was initially revealed that Hades 2 would be available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Supergiant Games has since clarified on X/Twitter that not only will the game be available on both the original Switch and the Switch 2, but it will also enjoy a period of exclusivity on Nintendo's consoles.

"Hades II v1.0 will launch simultaneously on our Early Access platforms (Steam and Epic Games Store), Nintendo Switch 2, and the original Nintendo Switch," stated Supergiant Games on their official X/Twitter account on April 8, 2025.

While the exact release date remains under wraps, the excitement around Hades 2 continues to build. It's currently unclear when the game will expand to other consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S.

Hades 2 is the follow-up to Supergiant's critically acclaimed first game, blending compelling narratives with roguelite action and dungeon-crawling gameplay. IGN's early-access review of Hades 2 praised the game, awarding it a 9/10 and noting, "Hades 2 feels impossibly huge and unbelievably polished by any standard, much less an early access game. Mel is awesome, the new tweaks to the combat and progression are excellent, and it's just unbelievably feature packed with twice the content of the first.
