Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered elevates its action-packed gameplay with extensive weapon and outfit customization options. Whether you're aiming to sneak past machines or engage in intense melee or ranged combat, you can tailor your outfits to suit your playstyle. However, there are moments when combining the effects of multiple outfits could significantly enhance your gameplay. Fortunately, the remastered version allows you to do just that, albeit with certain limitations. Let's dive into how you can achieve this.

Remastered Version Of Horizon Zero Dawn Required

To enjoy the benefits of using two outfits simultaneously, you'll need the Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered edition. This version introduced a transmog feature through a recent patch, enabling you to retain the stats and effects of one outfit while sporting the appearance of another. No more sacrificing style for functionality!

Pre-Requisite For The Two Outfit Method

To utilize the effects of two outfits, there are specific prerequisites to keep in mind. Not all outfits are compatible with this method. While you can choose any outfit for the stats, the second outfit for appearance must be one of these three:

  • Banuk Werak Runner
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain
  • Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept (available only in New Game Plus)

These outfits are exclusive to the Frozen Wilds DLC area, so you won’t be able to use this method at the beginning of the game. The good news is that you don’t need to complete the base game to access the Frozen Wilds DLC.

How To Get Banuk Werak Outfits In Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered

Banuk Werak Runner

Start by making your way to the expansion area, which involves defeating a new machine. If this proves challenging, consider lowering the difficulty or upgrading your gear beforehand. Once in the area, find a Bluegleam Merchant (marked by a blue Merchant icon) and purchase the Banuk Werak Runner outfit.

Banuk Werak Chieftain & Banuk Werak Chieftain Adept

For the superior Banuk Werak Chieftain outfit, you must complete the "For the Werak" quest, the third main quest in the Frozen Wilds DLC. Equip your best gear, as this mission can be demanding. Alternatively, you can switch to Story mode to ease the challenge and unlock the outfit faster.

The process for obtaining the Adept version is identical, but it's only available in New Game Plus.

Once you have the second outfit, you're ready to proceed. There's no need to delve deeper into the Frozen Wilds content unless you choose to.

What To Do To Get the Effects Of Two Outfits

First, equip the outfit with your preferred stats. Remember, you can enhance an outfit's stats with Weaves. After selecting your primary outfit, use the transmog feature to apply the appearance of one of the Banuk Werak outfits. While these outfits don't add to the stats, they grant an automatic healing perk after taking damage for a brief period.

This method lets you retain the stats of your chosen outfit while benefiting from the auto-healing perk of the Banuk Werak outfits. If your primary outfit is the Shield Weaver, you become nearly invincible, taking little to no damage. In the rare instances you do, the healing perk from the Banuk Werak outfits kicks in, providing additional survivability.

The Chieftain and Chieftain Adept outfits activate their healing perk faster than the Banuk Werak Runner, making them preferable if available.
