Gamers Protest Infinity Nikki 1.5 Update, Threaten Boycott

Oct 10,25

Infinity Nikki and its multiplayer-focused 1.5 update have launched on Steam, accompanied by significant player backlash.

After months of Epic Games Store exclusivity, Infold Games' fashion RPG finally arrived on Valve's platform yesterday. However, what should've been a celebratory moment turned sour as players encountered technical glitches, questionable design decisions, and excessive outfit collection requirements. Developers have issued apologies and compensation promises, but community dissatisfaction continues.

PC players eager to experience the Steam version faced numerous technical problems including crashes and instability. While launch issues aren't uncommon, the community grew increasingly frustrated upon discovering additional concerns beyond performance.

The newly introduced five-star outfits - Snowbound Ballad and Undying Ember - require collecting 11 pieces each (potentially demanding 220 pulls), marking a significant increase from previous outfit sets. Players worry this establishes a concerning precedent for future content requirements.

The situation escalated when Infold extended the Crown of Miraland: Peak Arena event duration without clear communication. This decision, combined with mounting technical issues and perceived aggressive monetization, led Chinese players to organize on RedNote. Their movement quickly gained international support, with calls for Steam boycotts, negative reviews, and game uninstalls across all platforms.

"What I'm reminding people of is a decent amount of Chinese IN stylists pledging to not spend/pull on the banners to send a message," explained Reddit user kiaxxl in their call-to-action post. "For gacha games, tracking how successful a new batch of content is usually measured on the first few days."

The coordinated response has produced measurable results - Infinity Nikki currently holds a "Mixed" rating on Steam as negative reviews caution potential players against purchasing until improvements are made.

Facing mounting pressure, Infold issued an apology letter acknowledging technical issues while promising better future communication. The message confirmed fixes for major problems and announced compensation including 10 Revelation Crystals, 10 Resonance Crystals, and 1200 Diamonds.

While some players welcomed these concessions, others remain critical of the unchanged 11-piece outfit requirements. Community members continue urging sustained pressure to prevent further increases in collection demands.

Think about it: CN players are pointing out that if we accept the 11-piece outfits and pity as it is, most new 5 stars will be 11 pieces," commented Reddit user EdensAsmr. "Imagine if every new major update has two 11-piece 5-star banners?"

Infinity Nikki Update 1.5 is now available, introducing the new Bubble Season content. Players can claim 100 free pulls and redeem new codes for additional rewards including Resonance Crystals and Diamonds.
