Long-awaited crossplay functionality is finally coming to Baldur's Gate 3 with the upcoming Patch 8! While a firm release date is pending, a Patch 8 Stress Test will give select players early access in January 2025. This test allows Larian Studios to identify and fix bugs before the wider release.

When is Cross-Play Arriving?

Patch 8, incorporating crossplay, doesn't have an official release date. However, the January 2025 Stress Test will offer early access to this feature and other Patch 8 improvements for a limited group of players.

How to Participate in the Stress Test:

To join the Patch 8 Stress Test and experience crossplay firsthand, register via Larian's Stress Test Registration form. You'll need a Larian account; create one or log in if you already have one. The registration process is quick and simple, requiring basic player information, including your gaming platform (PC, PlayStation, or Xbox).

Keep in mind that registration doesn't guarantee selection. Those chosen will receive an email with instructions and access details. Selected participants can offer feedback through feedback forms and Discord.

This Stress Test also aims to assess the patch's impact on mods. Mod users and creators are encouraged to participate to ensure compatibility.

Important Note: Crossplay requires all players in your group to be part of the Stress Test. Otherwise, you'll have to wait for the full release in 2025.
