Kemco's Metro Quester: A Fresh Departure from the Norm

May 24,25

Whenever I write about Kemco, I find it both invariably welcome and fairly predictable. Their releases of JRPGs from across the pond tend to be high-quality but invariably hit those high-fantasy, melodramatic notes. However, their newest upcoming release, Metro Quester, caught my eye for how it defies all those conventions, and it's set to launch on April 21st, with pre-registration now open!

In Metro Quester, you'll dive into a unique dungeon-crawling RPG experience. Rather than spending time above ground and wandering into ruins, you'll navigate a post-apocalyptic, Glukhovky-esque future, trapped underground and exploring the ancient metro lines of a bygone era.

This game, developed by Thousand Games, promises a rich experience, featuring character designs by Kazushi Hagiwara, known for works like Bastard!! The Dark God of Destruction, alongside other talented artists. You can expect a high-quality, albeit dark and gloomy, world to explore.

ytKemco stands outIndeed, I was genuinely pleased to see Metro Quester in my inbox. This promises to be a standout offering in Kemco's catalogue, thanks to its blend of a dark world and retro top-down dungeon crawling. With 24 characters, 8 classes, customizable weapons, a comprehensive bestiary, and more, content is certainly not an issue.

Admittedly, Metro Quester still embraces that all-too-familiar anime style. Yet, I hardly think many of you will find it objectionable. If you're looking for something new and intriguing to supplement your JRPG obsession, keep an eye out for when Metro Quester hits storefronts on April 21st!
