Should You Kill Jakesh in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2? (Bad Blood Quest Guide)
Unraveling the Mystery of "Bad Blood" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of side quests, enriching the game's narrative and character development. This guide details how to initiate and complete the "Bad Blood" quest.
Initiating the Quest:
After gaining open-world access in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, progress through the quest involving finding Mutt. This leads you to a clearing near Bozhena's hut. Speaking with Bozhena about Mutt reveals her daughter Pavlena's disappearance, prompting her request for help and initiating the "Bad Blood" quest.
Gathering Information:
-
Troskowitz Investigation: Visit Baliff Thrush and Innkeeper Betty in Troskowitz to gather information about Bozhena and Pavlena, uncovering the reasons for their ostracism.
-
Woodcutter's Clues: Speak with Woodcutter Dushko, who directs you to Roman's house. (Note: Lockpicking is required; save beforehand). Examine Pavlena's basket inside.
-
Following the Trail: Further questioning of Dushko leads to a clearing near Roman's house, where you discover a blood trail culminating in Roman's corpse. Speak with Hogherd Hugo and Hired Hand Straw (requiring a successful dialogue check with Straw to learn about Jakesh and the events surrounding Roman and Pavlena). Inform Thrush about your findings.
-
Investigating near Zhelejov: Continue the investigation at the rocks south of Zhelejov.
Confronting Ota:
Locate Ota and Pavlena by navigating around a large boulder and climbing a ladder. High Charisma is advantageous for dialogue checks. The following options will persuade Ota to release Pavlena:
- "What's your name?"
- "Let her go and I'll let you go."
- "I'll put in a good word for you with His Lordship."
Pavlena will subsequently kill Ota. Return to Bozhena with Pavlena.
Choosing Your Path: Kill Jakesh or Make Peace?
The final decision involves Jakesh. Find him at his child's grave. You can choose to kill him, or attempt reconciliation between him and Bozhena. Killing Bozhena is also a possible, albeit less desirable, outcome.
Consequences of Your Choice:
-
Killing Jakesh: Decreases reputation in Troskowitz but significantly improves reputation with Bozhena and Pavlena. Unlocks a new dialogue option with Pavlena and rewards you with Roman's gift necklace.
-
Making Peace: Rewards you with 100 groschen from Jakesh (keep it or share with Bozhena). Bozhena and Pavlena are reinstated in the settlement.
This concludes the "Bad Blood" quest. Refer to The Escapist for further game guides and tips.
