Krysten Ritter will officially reprise her role as Jessica Jones in the upcoming Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+. The announcement was made during the Disney Upfront presentation in New York, confirming months of speculation and rumors about the return of the beloved Netflix Defenders to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

Ritter joined her co-star Charlie Cox on stage to share her enthusiasm for returning to the role. "It's so great to be back, returning to Jessica after three seasons and The Defenders and now joining the MCU," Ritter stated. "I'm so excited to bring back this iconic character, and without giving too much away, there is much more in store for Jessica Jones. This is going to be an incredible season!"

As Netflix's relationship with Marvel's original programming came to an end, so did the prospects of Ritter returning to the role—until Disney regained the rights to these characters in 2021.

With Charlie Cox reprising his role as Daredevil in Spider-Man: No Way Home and the Daredevil: Born Again series, fans began to hope for more Netflix heroes to make their MCU debut. The inclusion of Punisher in Season 1 set the stage for Jessica Jones's return in Season 2.

Ritter last portrayed Jessica Jones in Season 3, which aired in 2019. Her comments at the upfront presentation hint at more appearances for the character in the MCU, but for now, fans can look forward to seeing her in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, slated for release in March 2026 according to showrunner Dario Scardapane.
