LEGO Unveils 3-Foot Jurassic Park T-Rex Skeleton Set
LEGO enthusiasts and Jurassic World fans, get ready for the largest set yet: an awe-inspiring T-rex skeleton that stretches over three feet in length. This magnificent set comes complete with minifigures of Dr. Ellie Sattler and Dr. Alan Grant, iconic characters from the original Jurassic Park movie where this skeleton is prominently displayed in the visitor center. Priced at $249.99, it will be available for purchase at the LEGO Store starting March 12 for LEGO Insiders (you can sign up for free here) and March 15 for everyone else.

LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: Tyrannosaurus Rex
Release Date: March 15 (March 12 for Insiders)
Price: $249.99
Pieces: 3,145
Ages: 18+
Dimensions: L: 105cm (41.3in) / H: 33cm (12.9in)
This set, comprising 3,145 pieces, is tailored for an adult audience (18+), focusing on display rather than play. It may incorporate some advanced building techniques, which could challenge younger builders. While pictures may not fully capture the scale of this set, the included minifigures of Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler provide some perspective. The fully assembled skeleton measures over three feet long, with its skull resembling the currently available LEGO T-rex skull (a set my son enjoyed building). However, the complete skeleton significantly enhances the visual impact of the new set.
LEGO Jurassic World Dinosaur Fossils: T-Rex Skeleton
The dinosaur's skeleton features articulated joints, allowing for various posing options. The head can move, the jaw opens, and the arms and tail can be adjusted to different positions. As with many LEGO sets inspired by movies, this one includes several hidden Easter eggs to discover during assembly. It also includes a display stand and an informational plaque detailing the T-rex’s diet, habitat, and more.

While the LEGO Jurassic World collection may not be as extensive as the LEGO Star Wars or LEGO Harry Potter series, it is rapidly expanding. I personally look forward to seeing more adult-oriented sets like this T-rex skeleton added to the lineup in the future.
