The recent Pokémon Go Fest in Madrid, Spain, drew massive crowds of dedicated Pokémon Go players, creating an atmosphere of excitement and community. But this year's event was especially memorable for at least five couples who chose the festival to propose. And the best part? All five received a resounding "Yes!"
A Madrid Milestone
For some attendees, the event marked more than just a celebration of the game. Martina, for example, proposed to her partner Shaun after eight years, six of which were long-distance. "It was just the right time," she commented, "We've finally settled in the same place and this is the perfect way to celebrate our new life together."
The festival itself was a triumph, attracting over 190,000 attendees. While not on the scale of a major sporting event, the numbers are still impressive. Niantic's special proposal package likely means even more proposals occurred, though not all were captured on camera. Regardless, the event showcased the powerful role Pokémon Go has played in connecting people and fostering relationships. For some couples, it's clear that their love story wouldn't exist without the game.
