Marvel Rivals Dev Promises a New Hero Every Month and a Half
NetEase Games has confirmed a robust post-launch content roadmap for Marvel Rivals, promising a new hero every six weeks. Creative director Guangyun Chen revealed in an interview with Metro that each three-month season will be split into two halves, each introducing a new playable character. This commitment to regular content updates includes new seasonal stories and maps alongside the new heroes. Chen emphasized the goal of continuously enhancing the player experience and maintaining community excitement.
The first season, "Eternal Night Falls," already showcased this plan, launching with Mister Fantastic and the Invisible Woman in the first half, followed by The Thing and the Human Torch in the second. While this initial lineup featured iconic Marvel heroes, maintaining this level of character introduction consistently will be a significant undertaking.
Marvel Rivals boasts a strong initial roster including Wolverine, Magneto, Spider-Man, Jeff the Landshark, and Storm. However, the vast Marvel universe offers countless possibilities for future additions. Speculation points towards Blade in Season 2, with fans eagerly anticipating the inclusion of characters like Daredevil and other X-Men. NetEase's success with the game suggests they are prepared to meet this challenge.
Season 1 also included substantial balance changes and gameplay adjustments, with further updates planned. For more on Marvel Rivals, explore articles detailing player strategies using the Invisible Woman against bots, the Hero Hot List, and the use of mods despite potential bans.
