Marvel Rivals' Season 1 Launch Shatters Steam Player Records

Marvel Rivals soared to unprecedented heights with the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, exceeding 560,000 concurrent players on Steam—a new all-time high for the game. This surge in popularity is fueled by a wave of exciting new content.

The new season introduces the Fantastic Four as playable heroes, pitting them against Dracula and his forces after he imprisons Doctor Strange and seizes control of New York City. Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman are immediately available, with Human Torch and The Thing slated for a major mid-season update.

Adding to the excitement are new maps: the mystical Sanctum Sanctorum, and Midtown, featured in a convoy mission. A brand-new game mode, Doom Match, debuts within the Sanctum Sanctorum.

NetEase Games is actively engaging players with generous incentives, including free skins and content. A contest offering $10 Steam gift cards for shared gameplay highlights on Discord further boosts player engagement. Free skins for Thor (via Midnight Features event) and Hela (through Twitch Drops) are also available, along with free Peni Parker and Scarlet Witch skins within the Season 1 Darkhold battle pass (even without purchasing the premium version).

This success builds upon Marvel Rivals' earlier achievement of 20 million players across PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S since its December 6, 2024 launch. The Season 1 launch strongly suggests continued growth for the title.
