"Mesopotamia-Themed Point and Click Game 'My Father Lied' Launches in May"
Ahmed Alameen, a talented writer and filmmaker, is set to unveil his first point-and-click adventure game, "My Father Lied," on May 30th. This narrative-driven puzzle game draws inspiration from the rich tapestry of Mesopotamian history and promises an enthralling experience for players.
In "My Father Lied," you step into the shoes of Huda, a young woman determined to unravel the mystery of her father's disappearance. The story unfolds twenty years after her father vanished, with Huda's investigation sparked by the revelation of a brother she never knew existed, kept secret by her father.
Originally a collaborative effort with a college classmate where Alameen served as the narrative designer, the project faced a setback when the team dissolved. Undeterred, Alameen took it upon himself to master game design and bring his vision to life as a solo developer.
As Huda, players will navigate the world using point-and-click mechanics, piecing together images, cracking codes, and solving puzzles within hauntingly beautiful environments. Alameen's game blends elements from classics like "Myst" and "Heaven's Vault," infused with the eerie atmosphere reminiscent of H.P. Lovecraft's literary works.
To ensure the game runs smoothly on low-end PCs, Alameen opted for a creative approach, integrating both 2D and 360-degree images. This technique extends to the game's cutscenes, which are meticulously crafted frame by frame, promising high-quality visuals without compromising performance.
"My Father Lied" will be available on the App Store, Google Play, and for PC via Steam starting May 30th, priced at $10.99/€10.99. While you can add it to your Steam Wishlist now, mobile pre-registration is not yet available. For more updates and insights into the game, follow Lunar Games on X, Discord, TikTok, or Instagram. Additionally, stay tuned for the upcoming Kickstarter campaign to support and learn more about this intriguing project.
